4 important questions of life:
1. Who am i?
2. Where did I come from?
3. Where am I going when I die?
4. Why am I here (my purpose)?
Do you ever find yourself asking these questions? I believe the answer to these four questions determines my beliefs of the past, my current existence and future hope.
I believe that the Spirit of God inspired the writing and preservation of the Holy Scriptures (the Bible) until this day. In this "Good Book" i have found clear answers to these 4 questions of life:
1. Who am i? I am a new creation in Jesus Christ, the old has gone and the new has come (1). For me there is no eternal condemnation, but rather a future hope of love and peace (2).
2. Where did the earth come from? God created the cosmos according to the Bible (3) So this observable universe i perceive was made by the Supernatural God. Where did i come from? God knit me together in my mother's womb (4). The development inside the womb from the point of conception until the baby is born is so astounding- it is a work of Someone beyond human understanding.
3. Where am i going when i die? I understand there to be two places for the dead- Heaven and Hell. Where you go when you die depends on a very simple decision. Please go to our Who Is God page for details about what the Bible says on this subject.
4. Why am i here? The answer to this question depends on a person's answer to the first three questions. If you believe the Bible to be an accurately preserved historical account, and if you are convinced that the writing of the Bible was Divinely Inspired by God, then my answers are easy to accept. If you do not agree with this, please accept this as my basis for belief:
The Bible. This Book requires faith to believe it is absolutely true. It also requires faith to believe it is not true. According to what the Bible says, the outcome of your decision yields an eternal destination. My desire is that everyone who reads this journal will consider this. If i'm wrong and the Bible is not true, at least i've picked a good book for structuring my moral values. If i'm right and the Bible is true, i've picked the only way to heaven (5).
That's not all though. I've found a way that brings me a satisfying love, and peace of mind that is above my understanding, and a purpose in life. That is the answer to question #4. I am here to glorify God.
The Bible was written to explain God's plan to save you and the history behind it all. The one unifying theme in this Book is that of grace and forgiveness for everyone through God's redeeming work through His Son Jesus Christ.
